Global Resource Design Corp. currently has an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing team in Longmont. GRD has fast paced, challenging and ongoing career opportunities for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project Manager in developing project scope and objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
  • Determines project specifications, customers’ requirements, and assisting project manager in preparing cost estimates.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinate activities, resolving problems.
  • Monitor project compliance to applicable codes, and standards.
  • Interact daily with the clients to understand their needs and requirements .
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project team members to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Effectively define scopes of services and scopes of facilities/work across all disciplines and including engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (Budget, schedule, and plans) and report regularly to the project manager.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project team members to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Effectively manage scope changes and trends – actively identify quantity, cost and time trends and manage the change process.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as a project engineer.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience, preferable mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years previous experience in the mining or resources industry essential. Will be considered a plus having worked for an EPCM type of company.
  • Practical knowledge, principles and methods of engineering in the EPCM industry on gas related projects
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Previous home office and field experience as a project engineer on complex / heavy process industry projects is desirable.
  • Competent to specify and interrogate detailed plans and reports for all disciplines including cost and schedule control and estimating.
  • Your client focus, great communication skills and commitment to compliance will be highly regarded in this dynamic environment.
  • Your ability to prioritize, plan and organize work tasks, as well as developing and preparing scopes of work will be a factor of success for the position.
